This historic chapel building was constructed in 1886 and is administered by Waikumete Restoration Chapel Trust (Ph 837 5520).

It is of classic English craft style, with parapet gable ends and external corner buttresses, all superbly proportioned.

A nearby small, more modern building, has been constructed in similar style and together they form a two building complex, surrounded by mature Oaks within the upper part of Waikumete Cemetery, on Glenview Road, opposite Glen Eden School. Historic early settler graves dating from the 1880s are located nearby.
