This is a villa, unusual in being constructed with brickwork walls (probably solid or cavity type). It is in the ownership of Waitakere City, coming within part of a magnificent foreshore reserve.
Notwithstanding the rating records of 2006, which rather quaintly give a build date of the 1950s, it is clearly of late Victorian/Edwardian vintage (1900 to 1910 approx) and of return verandah villa style.
There is a splendid view back to the City from this waterfront position (see below) and the building is oriented to achieve this view from its main veranda. It is at present "backwards" on to the street, in Victorian terms, but roads within this subdivision are recent (about 2000). Original site access may have been by sea.
